Fed Interest Rate Decision

"Fed set to leave interest rates unchanged"

May 03, 18:00 GMT: The Federal Reserve is expected to keep interest rates unchanged following the two day policy meeting on Wednesday. Investors will be keen to see whether the central bank plays down the recent softer period in the economy and will look for indications for a potential rate increase in June.

As it stands investors are wary of buying the dollar, this is due to geopolitical tensions and more economical data to come later this week. Policymakers have made it clear that two 2017 further rate hikes are likely, however it seems that any decisions on timing will be based on Trump's abilities to get administration policies on tax, spending and regulation through Congress.
